Temari Rabbit 2-Tier Bento #33

Yellow bell pepper, a cup of yogurt ranch, marinated mushrooms, sugar snap peas, marinated beets, mandarin oranges, and pinwheels of whole wheat tortilla/cream cheese/pepperoni.

Although I didn't mind it, be forewarned: even if you use the plastic divider in your bento box, if you pack marinated mushrooms and marinated beets at the same time, your mushrooms will get bleed over and turn slightly pink by lunch. Don't say I didn't tell you this might happen!

Sakura 3-Tier Bento #27


Marinated beets,  checkerboard of Swiss cheese cubes and black olives, mini "everything" crackers, mandarin oranges, a cup of yogurt ranch dressing, sugar snap peas, and rings of yellow and red bell pepper.
 
Despite being created from the dregs of my freshly moved pantry, I think this is actually quite pretty!

Temari Rabbit Bento Bowl #7

Marinated beets, mandarin oranges, and leftover pasta salad. It was supposed to have a sprinkling of parmesan on top, because it was a pesto-pepperoni-olive pasta salad, but I was too tired to pay enough attention before it was too late, and it's cheddar. Oh, well. It tasted okay.

3-Tier Bottle Bento #6

Although there were some lunches from pre-move, I'm going to keep those in waiting for the next hiatus. So, post-move, you get to see my pretty new countertops instead of the cutting board:

The lighting is much better in this kitchen, too--so easy to get a good shot!

That said, the first week after a move always results in slightly weird food. The only rule I have this week is that I aim to have some kind of fruit, some kind of vegetable, a protein, and a grain. Here, that's applesauce, marinated beets, cubes of Swiss cheese, and some little "everything" crackers.

Not exactly pretty, but it covered the bases.

A Short Hiatus

Although I've been packing and photographing my lunch, I haven't had time for blogging, what with the move coming up (in just a few days!). You can look for new posts from me in about a week or so. Sorry about the silence, but you know how it is when you're in the midst of uprooting yourself and replanting somewhere else--stuff just gets lost in the shuffle.

ECO Lunch Box Three-in-One #8

Scallion pancake wrapped with ham, white chocolate stuffed raspberries, chocolate covered blueberries, Asian baby corn salad, and mixed color grapes.

I love this salad. Seriously, it must be tried if you haven't yet! It's been foolproof every time I've had it--easy, colorful, tasty, good for you, and not too expensive. It's not really cheap or anything, but it is cheaper than most salads I make.

There were no snacks this week, so no "Pack-a-Snack" post this weekend. See you Monday!

Temari Rabbit 2-Tier Bento #32

Raspberries stuffed with white chocolate, Rainier cherries, green grapes, a red cherry, soy wrapper chives dumplings, a bottle of soy sauce, and marinated tofu.

I can't say I'm crazy about the chives dumplings, but I am happy to be diminishing the stock of stuff in the freezer! Moving is insane. I don't really have all that much stuff and my kitchen is the tiniest I've ever had to deal with (which is saying something), and yet whittling down my possessions, including food, has been a major challenge. If I have to throw away the rest of these mediocre dumplings, I will not waste time feeling bad about it.

Sakura 3-Tier Bento #26

Rainier cherries, black grapes, raspberries stuffed with white chocolate chips, green grapes, red cherries, banana slices wrapped with peanut butter-spread tortilla, cucumbers, baby carrots, cherry tomatoes, and yogurt ranch dressing.

A bit light, but I wasn't terribly hungry, so it worked.
