Restaurant Review: Chiptole Catering

We ordered our food for the library's holiday party from Chipotle, which was exciting because they're so vegan friendly. I'm showing you the leftovers I packed as lunch the following day, with some additions of my own.

This was some Daiya mozzarella (cheddar would turn out to be better with these but I didn't have any on hand at the time), a dressing I made by mixing non-dairy sour cream with salsa verde, Chipotle's black beans, Chipotle's guacamole, some black olives, and diced tomato. (Now that I'm looking at it rather a lot of this were my own additions!)

You don't really need to see the bowl of lettuce I would dump all the stuff on for my taco salad, but here it is anyway! (This was Chipotle's lettuce, not that I think it makes a difference.)

Of course if you have taco salad you need some chips or something! These are Chiptole's.

Although I wish Chiptole had black olives, because they were a fantastic addition, as work-provided lunch goes this was my favorite so far! I actually got to have some protein! (It was smart of me to join the party committee, wasn't it?) I ate dinner for a week on what was left over, too, so there was plenty of food. What was fun about the catering was that I got to have both black beans and pinto beans, brown rice and white rice, crunchy and soft taco shells, etc. It was like we had a buffet of everything Chipotle! I know some people probably thought Chipotle was a bit low brow for a staff party but they really enjoyed the food.

General thoughts: Ordering online was easy, everything was ready at the appointed time, they packed it really well, and we had plenty of vegan options. I would definitely order from them again, but maybe if we get it again I'll bring in a can of black olives to go with it all. 4.5/5

  1. Chipotle does have some pretty great options and they are everywhere! It is always great to have vegan options at chain restaurants because you know you can find something anywhere. Their black beans are really great. The only think I wish was that they didn't put cilantro in EVERYTHING. I am one of the people that enjoys a mouthful of soapy taste whenever they eat cilantro so it's hard to get around it when it is in everything. Anyway, it is nice to go to a party knowing you won't starve!
