Monbento Original #1 (Double Tier)

Bac'n bits; my homemade creamy dill dressing; a simple salad of mixed lettuces (butter and leaf lettuces) with cucumber, tomato, and onion; Tofurky and Violife cheddar mini sandwiches, and mango chunks.

After doing my grocery shopping on a weeknight, any more involved meal prep was out of the question, but this was just what I needed. I am not that much of a green salad person but I was desperately craving something simple and fresh after that long slog through my pantry, so this really got me excited. This was also my first time to try Violife cheese, which is so good. I'm eager to try the other varieties available near me, especially the feta and block Parmesan. I haven't had feta in more than three years, I think.

It may just be a honeymoon period, but I absolutely love this lunch box. It's so elegant and the different components make it so wonderfully functional. I'm glad I bought the extra accessories, like the dividers and the tiny sauce cups. I wish I were famous enough for Monbento to just send me free lunch boxes; alas, I am not. So far, though, my totally unpaid-for opinion is that they are absolutely worth the money.

  1. Ooooh hooray for the two tier Monbento!!! I'm obsessed with mine, I'm so glad you are enjoying yours too! This lunch looks really delicious, the sandwich sounds great, mango is always delicious and tons of freshness between the fruit and the salad! Yay! Oh and the Violife feta is delicious! I can't wait to try the block Parmesan too!

    1. That sounds promising! I really want to make a Greek salad or this strawberry-spinach salad I used to love.

    1. Thanks. Yes, the Monbento is brilliant if you get the accessories to go with it--very versatile. It still seems a bit large for a lot of what I eat but I'll figure it out, I think.
