What I Ate in a Day #50
One of the things I like about summer--one of the only things--is that I can easily photograph food throughout my day and have it look okay. So whilst I attempt to convince myself that it's all right that I haven't had the chance to bake in three months, I'm taking you along for a recent full day of eating.
Orange juice with a (veggie) sausage and (JUST) egg bagel. I added some margarine to the bagel so it wouldn't be too dry. I always enjoy such a breakfast, so I have little commentary to add, except that it had been way too long since I had something like this. I bought the sausage and folded egg patties to use up the bagels in my freezer, now that I had made room for new things and I know for certain that I'll eat these things all the way up without effort or prompting.
For lunch, I packed some pasta salad I made out of leftover broccoli mushroom pasta, a few birthday cake protein bites, a clementine, some Skittles, and some strawberry applesauce.
I made the energy bites to use up more protein powder, which I'm slowly getting through, and some sprinkles, which I ordered from Nuts.com for making candy and ended up with way too much of. The recipe is from Our Love Language is Food. They weren't my favorite things ever, but they were good.
Some friends moved away and I inherited the applesauce. I don't usually get the strawberry kind, but it was tasty.
All in all, a successful, if slightly weird, lunch. There was also some herbal tea, not pictured.
For dinner, I had leftover mushroom barley stew with lentils and dill. I really loved this stuff and I was a bit sad to see it go.
With dinner, I took my usual supplements, which consist of a multivitamin, a Vitamin D tablet, turmeric, and DHA.
Although I wasn't hungry after this, I also hadn't hit my nutritional targets, so I made a glass of chocolate soy milk by blending up soy milk, cocoa powder, vanilla, and part of a frozen banana. It was tasty and really helped! But I didn't take a picture.
See you again soon!
