Independence Day is weird. It was weirder in quarantine, hearing illegal fireworks intermittently for hours in the dark. But taking the holiday off helped me to reset. I can't tell you that things are especially good in general (they are not) but the break was good.
The official fireworks show was cancelled here, so we had a ridiculous number of people setting off their own at all hours; it was super jarring, especially for the cats.
