Interlude: Making a Cake
Sometimes, I want to bake a cake. And if it's my birthday (as it was recently), I especially want a cake! So I tried a new-to-me recipe from Rainbow Nourishments for Biscoff cake. I cut it in half so I could make a small, 4-inch layer cake.
The frosting went wrong, so I didn't get to really decorate it, just frost it as best I could. I don't know what happened exactly, but it was what it was. The cake and frosting both use Biscoff spread for a punch of cookie flavor, and the cake tasted good in any case!
Also, I'd note that I managed to level the cake perfectly, and I was pretty proud of that, even if I didn't get to decorate it. This was not pipeable frosting.
You live, you learn, you try again later. And at least, in this case, I got cake!
