Restaurant Review: VLife NYC
After our trip to Governors Island, we did some things in Manhattan. One of those things was a visit to VLife NYC, a tiny sandwich shop on 7th Avenue not far from Penn Station. This is an all-vegan restaurant.
I ordered a "Golden Glory," which is a soy cutlet sandwich with tapioca cheese, lettuce, and tomato and your choice of sauces. I had the ranch sauce on it. The flavor was good, but the soy cutlets were a bit tough and next time I might try something else.
My omnivore companion had an avocado quesadilla. Though messy, it was much enjoyed.
We also shared these fries with mustard aioli and they were fantastic. I loved the mustard aioli and added it to my sandwich.
General thoughts: This place is tiny, but has tables and we didn't feel rushed sitting at them (as I often have felt when eating in tiny places in cities). The menu has a lot of variety on it. The sandwich I had wasn't perfect, but I would gladly eat there again. 4/5

I'd love to try the avocado quesadilla! The mustard aioli for the fries sounds great, and I'm sure it went well with your sandwich, too!
ReplyDeleteI couldn't really taste the ranch, so I was glad to have it!
DeleteI wish I knew you were here!! I haven't been to many Vegan places in the city at all but this looks amazing! Those fries look like perfection and the sandwiches, yum! I definitely need to put this place on my list of restaurants to try!
ReplyDeleteCome to think of it, I've never been to Long Island, and you've made so many places there look so good!
DeleteMustard aioli sounds so good. I love sandwich places! I feel we are lacking good vegan sandwich options in Brisbane.
ReplyDeleteThere isn't anything where I live, either, really, other than veggie sandwiches (i.e., roasted veggies on bread). Maybe eventually all the goodies will spread to us at home.
DeleteThis place was pretty nice. Great for fans of fake food.
