Sequestration Meal #269
I hope everyone had a lovely weekend! Mine was a bit stressful, and I had to take Friday as a sick day, so it was long and stressful, but here we are now with a somewhat odd meal, but one that worked: pumpkin hummus (recipe from Kim's Cravings) with Club crackers and avocado. The avocado was a bit sad--I guess I got a bad batch--and this half was the only edible part out of the bag of four I got. I hate it when a full bag of avocadoes is dingy and bruised inside, don't you? The joys of grocery deliveries...
The hummus was surprisingly good! I followed the instructions to top it with olive oil, smoked paprika, and (of course pumpkin) seeds. It got me through a meal and for that I am grateful. Plus it helped me use up a bit more of the canned pumpkin I had in the fridge.
I had to stop getting avocado in our online grocery order because it would always come completely rotten and unusable. Thankfully because of where I live in the world I am able to go out to the shops with very little concern so I can carefully pick and transport home the avocado of my choosing.
ReplyDeleteI hope you are feeling better.
Sometimes I get good avocadoes! I have found, though, that the ones you buy in the bags tend to be riskier than buying just one or two at a time. I am feeling better, thank you.
DeleteThank you for the pumpkin hummus link! I physically shop as well and have for months. Can’t afford the delivery fees unless there’s some crazy sale for such.
ReplyDeleteThe delivery fees do add up! I often share grocery orders with friends and neighbors to spread out the costs.
