Sequestration Meal #329

This may be one of those "well, I kept to my shopping schedule" meals--although it wasn't bad! I had a box of Annie's vegan macaroni in a creamy sauce in my pantry, and I cooked that with some finely chopped broccoli stems and carrots. I sliced some veggie hot dogs and cooked them in a bit of Earth Balance and added that to the macaroni and veggie mixture when it was all done.

I mean, yeah, it's hot dogs and macaroni. It wasn't ever going to be something special, and it wasn't anything special. But that's one more thing out of my pantry and one more day I exercised self-discipline, and that counts for a lot, I think.

You may notice a new look and feel for Food for Dissertating. I'm experimenting with making some changes. It's hard to give up the cozy and familiar sight of all those colored forks and spoons behind my posts, but it was time. I'm doing a lot of things differently these days. I'm not the person I was ten years ago when I started blogging, or five years ago when I transitioned to veganism, or three years ago when I faced down an earth-shattering diagnosis, or a year and half ago before a pandemic upended my life, or even four months ago when something else in my life went topsy-turvy. I'm generally not big on change but sometimes change is absolutely necessary. Let me know what you think! I'm still struggling to figure out how to fix the contact form so it doesn't show up as white on white. It works--just invisibly. That's less than ideal, but I'll do my best to work it out over time.

But the good news is there are a lot of new features. You can now easily share my posts on your favorite social media platforms.

I've also established a Twitter account for the blog. If you'd like, you can follow me there, too. It's worth mentioning, I suppose, that there is also a Facebook page for Food for Dissertating, if you didn't already know that.

    1. Thanks! I have often thought that I am not so much positive as defiant, but maybe that works out the same? In any case, I definitely do get up again when I'm knocked down, and I do like that quality in myself. It would be nice not to get knocked down quite as often, I think, for all of us, though.

  2. I love the new look, it is very chic! I keep thinking about changing my blog look a bit, it has been that way sine the beginning. But it seems like effort. I will definitely follow on Twitter!

    1. Thanks! I get attached to things sometimes, and there is something so nice and cozy about familiar blogs, even if they have had the same style for ages. It does take time and effort, of course, and it's totally up to you in the end!
