Pack-a-Snack #111
This is way more than one snack, but it was for a snacky day when I took a recent trip to a neighboring state. It got me through the day beautifully!
So here we have: Two Made Good soft baked oat bars, two 88 Acres protein bars, an Emerald snack pack, a Love Corn snack pack, some salted almonds, carrots, cucumbers, tomatoes, raspberries, blueberries, blackberries, and strawberries. I also took an insulated bottle of water.
I ate all the produce, the almonds, the corn, and an oat bar at some point during the day. I also had some vegan ice cream on my trip, a rare treat. I don't usually incline toward prepackaged snacks, but sometimes, they're useful; here, they were especially so. I wasn't hungry for anything else, so I call that a win even though I didn't end up eating everything.
I am not much of a traveler these days, but for when I am, this kind of approach can be really helpful, especially if I don't know how much I will want to eat. But you really can't go wrong with a fruit and nut snack, can you?
For those of you looking for ideas, this is entirely free of soy and gluten. If you need to avoid nuts, you can easily substitute in some crispy chickpeas.
