Sequestration Meal #14

I had some slightly sad but still edible asparagus and I was in the mood for classic American fare, so I made some mashed red potatoes and Gardein turkey cutlets to go with the asparagus (which I steamed). I've never really liked the gravy that comes with the Gardein turkey cutlets, although that has never really mattered because the cutlets themselves are amazing. But this time I decided to take it up a notch, and sauteed a bit of onion and some mushrooms and then heated the gravy in the skillet with them, and that became my mushroom gravy.

I highly recommend these additions to your quarantine rations, if you can manage it. I had the potatoes from before I went into isolation and I know that potatoes can be hard to get now. This may be the season of instant potato flakes for many of us.

  3. I have never been able to find potato flakes here that don't have dairy already added to them, which makes me sad as I have some recipes from my US cookbooks that I'd love to make that use them.

Your meal looks fancy and delicious!
